  • Where do you hold your Top Notch Trainers Classes?

    We have two Classroom locations, one in Solomons Island Maryland, and one in Hollywood Maryland, Both are at private ranges.

  • Will I be able to receive my HQL (Handgun Qualification License) from taking a Concealed Carry class?

    Yes, the Class we teach is a Nationally Recognized Curriculum that far exceeds the minimum requirements to receive an HQL.

  • Do I have to have an HQL (Handgun Qualification License) to take a concealed carry class?

    No, you do not have to have the Handgun Qualification License to take a class.

  • DO I need to have 2 sets of livescan fingerprints to get my concealed carry permit and my HQL?

    No, you need to get livescan prints for your Handgun Permit to carry, apply for that permit and WAIT until you receive your approval, then using your Permit # and expiration date go in and apply for your HQL (Handgun Qualification License) using the HQL PERMIT EXEMPT application- this is a FREE application and there are no livescan prints needed.

  • Do I need to own a gun to take one of your classes?

    No, we can provide loaners if you do not have an appropriate firearm to take our class.

  • Which handgun is the right gun to conceal and carry?

    That depends on you, it needs to have a very slim profile, fit your hand, and you need to be able to

    shoot it accurately and confidently. We can assist you in finding what suits you if you are interested, just contact us and we will work with you. Or take one of our classes!

  • Can I store my gun in my car, just in case?

    If you have a permit to carry – it is just that a permit to carry – not store in your car. Your firearm should be holstered on your person unless you are required to remove it to go into a Gun Free Zone.


    Leaving a gun in your car locked, or unlocked is not a good idea- this is where all the black market guns come from.

  • Who is exempt from conceal - carry classes?

    Active law enforcement officer with a law enforcement agency of the United States, the State or any local law enforcement agency in the State.

    Retired law enforcement officer with a law enforcement agency of the United States, the State or any local law enforcement agency in the State.

    Active, retired, or honorably discharged member of the armed forces of the United States or the National Guard.
